Dubai rolls out GenDubAI platform for family AI skills

New bilingual AI service puts parents at the centre of children's learning

Dubai has gone live with a new digital service aimed at making artificial intelligence something families can actually work with at home. The platform, GenDubAI, is now accessible through a mobile-friendly website and targets households with children between 8 and 15, offering content in both Arabic and English.

Delivery of the project sits with the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, which built and launched the platform in collaboration with the Community Development Authority and the Dubai Future Foundation. The three bodies frame the initiative not as a stand-alone product but as an operating tool for families: practical, easy-to-use content that parents can rely on as their children engage with AI tools.

What the platform is designed to do is fairly concrete. It gives parents a way to understand how their children are using artificial intelligence, supports safe and responsible use of its tools, and encourages a constructive approach to the technology. It also reflects the values and culture of the UAE, and its stated purpose includes making sure children get the most out of AI while their privacy, values and intellectual development remain protected.

The interactive design is intended to keep parents involved in their children’s learning and development rather than standing apart from it. In practice, that means the service treats the family, not the child alone, as the unit it is serving.

Officials responsible for running the project have been explicit about that intent. Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority, said the platform “places families at the heart of the AI learning journey, transforming technology into a shared space for learning, dialogue, and creativity within the family.”

Saeed Al Falasi, Executive Director of the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, described GenDubAI as a “first-of-its-kind” platform, one that helps children “benefit from the limitless opportunities of artificial intelligence under the direct guidance of their parents.”

Both statements point to the same operational premise: the platform works only if parents use it alongside their children, and its success will be measured by whether families adopt it as a routine part of how AI enters the home. With the service now launched and available in two languages on a mobile-friendly format, the implementing agencies have put the delivery question to the test, and the next measure of the project will be how families in Dubai actually use it.
