Corrections Policy — Nakhla Press
Nakhla Press is a regional gazette serving the United Arab Emirates in English. Accuracy and transparency are core to our reporting. This policy explains how readers report errors, how we review and correct content, where corrections appear, and typical timelines.
How to report an error
If you believe a Nakhla Press article contains an error, please contact us by:
- Email: [email protected]
- Contact form: https://nakhlapress.com/contact/
When you write, include the article URL, a clear description of the error, and any supporting documentation or links. This helps us investigate and resolve the matter quickly.
Internal review steps
- Acknowledgement — Our corrections team acknowledges receipt of your report.
- Preliminary check — The assigned editor reviews the claim against the published article, sources, and available evidence.
- Verification — We contact the reporter, author or relevant staff for context, and consult original documents, recordings, or named sources as needed.
- Decision — The editor decides whether a correction, clarification, or retraction is warranted. Legal, safety, or privacy concerns may require consultation with our legal counsel before action.
- Implementation — Approved corrections are implemented in the article and recorded as described below.
Our approach is evidence-based and aims to preserve the integrity of the published record while correcting factual mistakes.
Where corrections appear
- Article update — When we correct factual errors, we update the article text and add a short correction note at the top of the story summarizing what changed and why, with a date.
- Corrections log — Significant corrections are summarized on this page with a link to the corrected story.
- Silent edits — Minor fixes (typos, formatting, minor clarifications that do not change substance) are made without a formal correction note.
We do not routinely remove articles from the archive except for narrow circumstances such as legal obligation, risk to safety, or demonstrable harm.
Timelines
- Acknowledgement: typically within one business day of receipt.
- Initial investigation: usually completed within three business days.
- Simple factual corrections: corrected and published within 24–72 hours after verification.
- Complex, legal, or safety-sensitive issues: may take longer; we aim to resolve these within 14 days and will update the reporting party on progress if additional time is needed.
If you disagree with our decision, please reply to the corrections team and we will re-review the case.
